Eight injured during clash in procession

Samstipur, Jan 30 (UNI) Altogether eight people were injured, including an Inspector, during a clash between two groups in 'tazia' processions at Satanpura Chowk here this evening.

Police said as the procession reached Satanpura Chowk, under Ujiyarpur Police Station, the two groups pelted stones and indulged in violent clashes, injuring eight people, including the Inspector.

Later, the police resorted to firing to quell the mob.

The injured were rushed to a local hospital.

District Magistrate and Police Superintendent were camping at the spot.
