Aligarh, Jan 30 (UNI) Death in this western district of Uttar Pradesh haunts on every 'killer Thursday'.

With one death being reported every 'Black Thursday' during the last two months, people of Dhansali village live in constant fear.

So far, Thursday have claimed 10 lives, including that of six children and two women.

The matter was brought to notice by a recent media report.

For some it is the wrath of their 'Kul Devi' (ancestral Goddess), while some feel it to be some witchcraft.

According to a villager Gulab Singh, ''Even the word Thursday make me shiver. It's definitely some black magic which took my son's life.'' ''We have made our Kul Devi furious that's why we are facing Her wrath'' said another villager Ram Sukh.

The villagers, nowadays, are leaving no stone unturned to propitiate their 'Kul Devi'. According to sources, sacrifies are being made to placate the Goddess.

People don't even want to move out of their house on the 'deadly Thursday' as they are in constant fear, said Kamla, who had lost her son on the same day.

However, doctors have something different to quote.

Talking to UNI on the phone today, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) D K Pateria said, ''So far, only four people have died on Thursday. It's just a coincidence and nothing else. I appeal to people not to be horrified by any media report, media has got the habit of making a mountain'' out of a mole hill.

Mr Pateria added a case had already been registered against quacks who have played with the lives of people.

By and By, people are coming out of the fear, Mr Pateria claimed.
