BJP condemns delay in execution of Afzal Guru
Dehra Dun, Jan 30 (UNI) Newly-appointed Bharatiya Janata Party's National General Secretary Ram Lal today condemned the Congress-led UPA Government for delaying the execution of Afzal Guru, who has been sentenced to death in the Parliament attack case.
''The issue is being influenced by the Home Ministry, which is apparently with the Congress,'' said Mr Lal, who replaced Sanjay Joshi in Party President Rajnath Singh's new team yesterday.
'' The Congress' intention is clearly visible, it shows their weakness,'' he added. Flaying the Congress' Muslim appeasement policy, he said it was trying to create the pre-independence situation.
''We are not against the minorities,'' he said, adding that the Congress was least worried about the nation's welfare and more concerned about its vote bank. ''The country is not safe in the Congress' hand,'' he asserted.
Mr Lal, an RSS pracharak, also maintained that BJP would not contest election on the Hindutva issue but on state and local agendas.
Commenting on the Assembly election in the state, he claimed that people desire a change and want to bring the BJP back to power.
