BJP bandh call passes off peacefully in city

Hyderabad, Jan 30 (UNI) The bandh call given by the city BJP unit in protest against the police lathicharge on the BJP activists at the State Welfare Bhavan, yesterday, passed off peacefully today.

The BJP city unit has organised rallies and protest demonstrations as part of the bandh call in the city. However, the bandh had received poor response from the people as the state had announced holiday on the occasion of Moharram.

Talking to newspersons here, BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy said the party would lay a seige to the State Welfare office on February one and threatened that the activists would not leave the office until the Government release funds for the BC students scholarship.
