Behr India Ltd to inaugurate a new auto plant at Pune tomorrow
Mumbai, Jan 30 (UNI) Behr India, a 60:40 joint venture between Behr GmbH&Co. KG of Germany and Anand Automotive Systems, is inaugurating tomorrow its new state-of-art manufacturing plant at Chakan in Pune District of Maharashtra.
Anand Auto Chairman Mr Deep C. Anand told reporters here today that,''Behr GmbH&Co is one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of original equipment for passenger and commercial vehicles.
Anand Automotive Systems is india's leading manufacturer of automotive components and systems. The partners have invested USD 12 million in this project already in 2006 and envisage a further investment of USD five million in 2007, he said.
''Our strategy is to stay physically close to our customers. Pune is one of the most important locations for the automotive industry in India and many of our partners and customers are located here.
The inauguration of the new plant brings us even closer to our customers and to the business opportunities presented by one of the world's fastest growing automotive markets,'' he added.
Visiting India on the occasion, Behr GmbH&Co KG CEO Mr Markus Flik said ''Our vision is to make Behr India the clear leader in the Indian market in the fields of automotive air conditioning and engine cooling.Behr India is making a key contribution towards achieving the company's strategic goal, which is to generate ten per cent of the company sales from Asia by the end of 2010.''
