APHDC enhances marketing operations

Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 30 (UNI) As part of enhancing its marketing operations, Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd (APHDC) has proposed to open more retail outlets in major commercial cities in and outside Andhra Pradesh, official spokesman of APHDC said here.

He told UNI that the Corporation would market the handicraft products, through a chain of Lapakshi Handicrafts Emporia and by way of exports, crafts bazars, exhibitions and melas, throughout the country. The Corporation avoided the role of middlemen in the marketing process, he added.

He appealed to the district authorities to allot suitable, free government land to enable the Corporation to open one more Lapakshi Handicrafts Emporium in Vijayawada to fecilitate and encourage the artisans in the coastal districts.
