3 naxalites arrested,huge explosives seized

Malkangiri, Jan 30 (UNI) Police arrested three naxalites and seized huge explosive materials along with other modern gadgets from them during an encounter with the Special Operation Group (SOG) at Poplur village under Chitrokanda police station late last night.

Malkangiri Superintendent of Police H K Lal said the SOG had also destroyed the naxalite camp after a heavy exchange of fire during a combing operation.

Mr Lal said while a few managed to escape from the scene, three were nabbed by the SPG.

The naxalites were taken to Chitrakonda police station for further interrogation, Mr Lal said.
