Retd army man caught for carrying revolver in CM's janata darbar

Patna, Jan 29 (UNI) A retired army personnel Arvind Kumar Singh was caught by the security personnel for carrying revolver to the regular janata darbar of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar here today.

Police said Mr Singh had come to the janata darbar along with his licenced revolver and was found to be carrying it even during the security check at the entrance gate of the official residence of the Chief Minister at One, Anne Marg, where the janata darbar was being held. Mr Singh was also found carrying an application for all India expansion of his licence.

Mr Singh, who hails from Siwan, claimed to be a worker of the ruling JD(U) and revealed in the preliminary interrogation that he had no 'ill-intention' and finding the janata darbar the most appropriate place to get his work done hassle-free he chose to give the application to the CM.

After he willingly submitted his licenced revolver to the security personnel he was taken to the Sachiwalaya police station for further interrogation.

Mr Singh had retired from Asom Rifles in 2000 and since then is in search of some private job.
