Vishwa Kannada Sammelan to begin on Feb 23

Belgaum, Jan 27 (UNI) The inaugural procession depicting culture and tradition of Karnataka will be held here on February 23 prior to the inauguration of the world Kannada Sammelan.

Distrit Incharge Minsiter Sashikant Naik told newsmen here that a tableau from each district of the state would be participating in the procession.

He said Rs.five crores had been released for improving the conditions of the road in the city.

The Reception Committee for the Sammelan however had sought Rs.100 crore to build permanent infrasucture in the city, Mr Naik said.
