Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 27 (UNI) The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala today decided not to ban the visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to the state to attend the Vishala Hindu Mahasammelan on January 29.

''Let Mr Modi come and go. If a ban is imposed, then it could create more troubles than what happens after his visit,'' LDF Convenor Vaikom Vishwam told reporters after the Front's meeting here.

Noting that the present situation was different from the earlier one when VHP leader Praveen Togadia visited the state during the Untied Democratic Front (UDF), he said Mr Togadia was to visit the state with some particular interest.

Though he cancelled the visit, the then UDF government had not filed any FIR against it, he charged and pointed out that the situation was different now.

On the financial condition of the state, Mr Vishwam said the government would be asked to convene a meeting of financial experts, political leaders and others in May.

He said there was no need for a white paper on the financial condition of the state as demanded by the Opposition.

He also said the LDF meeting had approved the proposed Ordinance to restrict the tenure of the Devaswam Board, which administers the temples in Kerala to two years.

Regarding the Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan for the infrastructure development, he said a decision would be taken after the discussion.
