Curfew in parts of Gorakhpur after clash

Gorakhpur, Jan 27 (UNI) One person was killed and curfew imposed in some areas of the city here following clashes between members of two communities.

Police said miscreants opened fire on a marriage procession last night injuring three people. Some of the people trying to escape the shootout entered a moharram procession, leading to a clash.

One person, injured in the incident, died today.

The administration, as a precautionary measure, imposed curfew in Kotwali, Tiwaripur and Rajghat police station areas this morning.

The situation was said to be tense but under control.
