BB Mohanty served second summons by Lal Kothi police

Jaipur, Jan 27 (UNI) Senior IPS officer Bidya Bhushan Mohanty (Orissa DGP, Home Guard), who failed to report here today in connection with the 'forfeiture of surety' for the parole of his son Bitti Mohanty was served another summons by Lal Kothi police.

Superintendent of Police, Jaipur (East), VK Singh said another summons was sent to Mohanty today asking him to report here at the Lal Kothi police station on Janaury 31, adding the second summon was served as he did not respond to the first one.

An MBA student Bitti, convicted of raping a 26-year-old German woman in March 2006, was serving seven-year sentence in Jaipur jail was released on 15-day parole on November 20 on a surety of his father and Rs 50,000.

Bitti did not turn up on the expiry of his parole.

An ADM court here had earlier issued an arrest warrant for Mr BB Mohanty for 'dishonouring' his surety, but he got an interim stay from the Orissa High Court till February 5.
