12 antique idols worth crores recovered, 4 arrested in Jaipur
Jaipur, Jan 27 (UNI) The city police have busted a gang of thieves involved in stealing idols with the arrest of four people and recovered 12 antique idols worth several crores of rupees.
Superintendent of Police Methab Singh said the gang members landed in the police net at Kethadi House area while waiting for their prospective buyers.
Out of the 12 recovered idols, six were made of alloy metals.
An 11-inch-long idol of Radha was estimated to be around 2000 years old. The other alloy idols were of Goddess Sita, Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and Lord Hanuman.
The other idols included three in brass and three in black stone and were estimated to be thousands of years old.
The arrested people have been identified as Durgalal, Ramesh Chandra, Nathulal, Syogilal, he added.
