Kolkata, Jan 26 (UNI) Eminent scientist Saroj Ghosh, who has been selected for the prestigious 'Padma Bhushan' award for this year, plans to set up a most modern museum on the life and works of Rabindranath Tagore at Bolpur this year.

Speaking to newsmen here today after his name was announced by the Rastrapati Bhavan among the recipients of the country's third highest civilian award, Dr Ghosh said presently he was busy with three major scientic projects in the country and abroad.

''At present I am closely associated with the setting up of two major scientific museums in Ahmedabad and Tunisia,'' Dr Ghosh said adding that he was also associated as the 'main advisor' with the recently opened state of the art museum in Parliament and trying to develop it further.

Incidentally, Dr Ghosh was the brain behind the coming up of the country's first Science city in Kolkata way back in 1989.

Regarding his future programmes, Dr Ghosh said Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee had recently requested him to set up a small but most modern scientific museum on the life and work of nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore at Bolpur, adjacent to Gurudev's abode of peace Santiniketan, about 200 km from here, to meet the demand from a large cross-section of people.

Earlier, Dr Ghosh had taken up the challenge to complete a unique sciece museum within Parliament complex in August 2006, taking the visitors to the era of India's freedom struggle through laser-dominated shows, which are the first in the country and perhaps in Asia.
