Russian President leaves for home after 2-day visit to India
New Delhi, Jan 26 (UNI) Russian President Vladimir Putin left here today for home after a two-day official visit to India which saw bilateral ties elevated to a new level with landmark development in strategic partnership and civilian nuclear cooperation.
Mr Putin, who was the Chief Guest at the Republic Day parade this morning, was seen off at the airport by Petroleum Minister Murli Deora.
The Russian President had a relatively relaxed day today after a hectic schedule yesterday.
He held talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday on a wide range of bilateral, regional and international issues.
The two countries signed nine agreements, including one on enhanced Civilian Nuclear Cooperation. Russia agreed to provide four more units for the 1000 MWe Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant in Tamil Nadu.
The two countries also agreed to jointly combat terrorism, including its financing, and step up cooperation in defence, energy, space, culture, science and technology and trade and economic areas.
