Rains likely in NE states, Haryana, Punjab

Pune, Jan 26 (UNI) Rain or snow are likely to occur at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghlaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan, south Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather will prevail over West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, north Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.

Cold wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Orissa, Jharkhand and of east Uttar Pradesh.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Marathwada, north Telangana and in remaining parts of Jharkhand and were below normal in interior Orissa, Bihar and in some parts of Assam, Punjab, Vidarbha, north Chattisgarh and Tamil Nadu. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Sikkim, Uttaranchal, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, northwest Rajasthan, Gujarat region, north Madhya Maharashtra and north Konkan and were above normal in Gangetic West Bengal, Haryana, northwest Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, south Konkan and Goa and Rayalseema. They were normal over the rest of the country.
