PM, Sonia to address rallies in Punjab

Ludhiana, Jan 26 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi will address four rallies each in Punjab in the run up to the state assembly polls to be held on February 13.

The Congress High Command would finalise the tour programme of the two in consultation with the Punjab Congress, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh said while addressing a media conference here today.

Questioned about the CNN-IBN-Hidustan Times pre-poll survey giving 41 per cent of the votes to the Congress and 36 per cent to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP alliance, Capt Singh said the television channel and the newspaper in question were well known nationally and internationally.

''If people choose not to believe (the survey), then it is their problem'', he said without referring to SAD that had caste aspersions on the agency that conducted the poll.
