CPI to organise price hike stirs in Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, Jan 26: The Andhra Pradesh unit of the Communist Party of India (CPI) would organise agitational programmes on Febrauary 5 and 6, in protest against the government for not taking effective steps to bring down the prices of essential commodities in the state.
CPI state secretary K Narayana, in a release here today, said leaders and activists of the party would lay a siege to civil supply offices at the district-level and remove foodgrains from the godowns stored by businessmen to create artificial food scarcity in the state.
Alleging that the state government had failed to initiate action against hoarders, Mr Narayana demanded that the government supply foodgrains to the poor through the Public Distribution System (PDS) immediately.
