AP Govt to provide compensation to the farmers: Minister
Hyderabad, Jan 26 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today said the Government would pay compensation to the farmers whose crops were submerged and destroyed due to the breach of Nagarjuna Sagar left bank main canal in Nalgonda district today.
According to a press release here, Dr Reddy said reconstruction of the breached canal would be taken up on war-footing.
He said the State Major Irrigation Minister P Laxmaiah would visit the villages to assess the damage. The district administaration had been asked to take up the rescue operations immediately, he added.
