Haryana to be self-sufficient in power in 2 years: Hooda

Sirsa, Jan 25 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the state would achieve self-sufficiency in power within next two years and the people would get power supply for 20 to 22 hours in a day.

Talking to reporters here, he claimed that in the next two and a half years 9000 MW additional power generation would be achieved in the state.

The Yamuna Nagar thermal plant would start power generation to the tune of 300 MW from February, which would be enhanced by another 300 MW from November this year.

About the new excise policy, he said the Government revenue would be increased to Rs 946 crore with its implemention.

To another question, he said all the irrigation channels would be repaired by the irrigation department of the state within six months for which special funds had been allocated.
