Govt notifies imports of maize at nil customs duty till Dec 31

New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) The Government today issued a notification allowing the imports of maize at nil customs duty till December 31, 2007.

Keeping in view the high price of maize, Government has now decided to allow imports of maize at Nil customs duty till December 31, according to a Finance Ministry statement here.

In its efforts to keep the prices of essential commodities in check, Government had earlier exempted customs duty on wheat and pulses and had reduced customs duty on edible oils.
