BJYM launches signature campaign for execution of Afzal

Jaipur, Jan 25 (UNI) Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Youva Morcha (BJYM) today launched a signature campaign for the execution of the death sentence to parliment attack convict Afzal Guru here.

The campaign was kicked off by Prem Devi, the widow of martyr Jagdish Yadav and his daughter at the Martyrs Memorial here. Yadav, belonging to Neen Ka Thana in Sikar, was one of the security personnel killed in defending the attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001.

Prem Devi has already returned the posthumous medal awarded to her husband on the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom day last year.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP state general secretary Satish Punia accused the UPA government at the Centre of ''playing politics of appeasement'' by delaying the execution of main accused Afazal Guru who was sentenced to death by the Supreme court.

BJYM state president Ramlal said they would collect 10 lakh signatures by February 17 and present them to president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
