SAD rubbishes CNN-IBN-HT survey as "pre-poll Congress stunt"

Chandigarh, Jan 24 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal today rubbished the CNN-IBN-HT Punjab assembly poll survey, calling it a ''pre-poll stunt of a desparate and demoralised Congress'' and a ''paid job, a slur on the fair name of the media''.

In a statement here, the party said it would send notices to all those connected with the conduct and publication of the survey which was aimed salvaging the ''sunken fortunes'' of Chief Minister Amarindar Singh.

The survey, which has projected 41 per cent of votes for the ruling Congress while giving arch-rival SAD 36 per cent of votes in February 13 polls, was ''tabulated in the Chief Minister's Office,'' SAD General Secretary Sukhbir Singh Badal.
