New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) Amid reports of a booming second hand vehicle market in all cities, a leading automotive portal has announced introduction of a new facility for vehicle buyers to search used cars and two wheelers using mobile phone.

AutoIndia.com, promoted by NRIs based in the United States, today launched mobile phone functionality for searching used cars and bikes and also vehicle dealers.

''All that one has to do is to send a simple message like 'car' or 'bike' and SMS it to 6677,'' the Portal's CEO G Binu said here today, pointing out that ''in return, a few listings as per the specification in the message sent would be available on the mobile phone within one minute.'' Consumers can also apply for insurance and finance requirements through messaging to the same number.

Mr Sony S Kumar, Sr Channel Development Manager, said the users could also search the cars and bike based on car make and city.

''Anytime, anywhere access to vehicle information is increasingly the norm for consumers today. This feature truly makes our service device agnostic, by enabling millions of car and bike buyers who do not have a GPRS connection to access on the move,'' he said.

AutoIndia Mobile offers mobile phone users in India a variety of value added services on the text messaging platform, he said.

''Whether you are a novice to the car or bike buying process, or you are an avid car fanatic, the Autoindia SMS feature will be a great source of information on the latest car and bike listings, finding great deals, and in general, how to interact with sellers more faster your vehicle buying and owning experience,'' said Mr Kumar.

AutoIndia.com, with its state-of-the-art vertical portal for cars and bikes, is the Internet's leading auto classifieds marketplace and consumer information website.
