HC set aside order removing Board of Directors of society
Kochi, Jan 24 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today set aside the order of Registrar of Co-operatives removing the Board of Directors of the Kannur Co-opearative Society that govern the Pariyaram Medical College and hospital.
The Court passed the order after hearing three writ petitions filed by Society Chairman and former Minister M V Raghavan and Mr C T Ahammed Ali.
Mr Justice J M James observed that the reason given for removing the Board of Directors was not sustainable. The Registrar of Co-operatives issued the order on December 22 on the ground that the Board lacked sufficient quorum to conduct its meeting.
The Court found that the Board had sufficient quorum as per the Society's Bye-law and the Co-operative Society's Act.
The Court also ordered that the Board of Directors should be reinstated to conduct the affairs of the Society.
