Govt reduces import duty on palm and sunflower oils
New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) To make palm and sunflower oil products cheaper in the domestic market, the government today reduced the import duty on them.
Import duty on crude palm oil and palmolein were reduced to 60 per cent while those on refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm oil and palmolein were slashed to 67.5 per cent.
In August 2006, the government had cut import duty on crude palm oil and palmolein from 80 per cent to 70 per cent and on RBD palm oil and palmolein from 90 per cent to 80 per cent, a finance ministry statement here said.
