Jamshedpur, Jan 23 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said he would convene the Tribal Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting soon to discuss the Delimitation Commission's proposal to reduce the Scheduled Tribes seats in Jharkhand Assembly from 28 to 21.

Mr Koda, who led an all party delegation, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and BJP president Rajnath Singh in Delhi recently, to apprise them of the situation arising out of the Commision's proposal.

Mr Koda also praised the role of all parties for supporting the issue.

He, however, held the previous NDA government in the state responsible for the crisis, which had cropped up following reduction of the ST seats in the state.

The Chief Minister said the reduction of Assembly seats on the basis of population in the Assembly segments was not justified and if the trend continued there would be no reserved seat for the ST in the next 50 years.

Mr Koda claimed that his government had succeeded in controlling the prevailing ''corruption'' to some extent.

He announced to appoint 12,500 teachers for the primary and higher schools in the state and 2000 constable and 150 Sub-Inspectors in the police department shortly.
