Jehanabad poised for development: Nitish
Jehanabad, Jan 23 (UNI) After initiating a number of projects worth Rs 585 crores in Jehanabad, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the district, which was known for wrong reasons in the past, is now poised for development.
Addressing a public meeting, organised by his party MLA Jagdish Sharma at Ghosi, Mr Kumar said, that development and peace were indivisible and Bihar ''was bound to emerge as the most developed state of the country by 2015.'' Speaking about manpower and talent, he said,''We are second to none,'' adding ''the potential needed to be explorted.
He said infrastructures like roads, bridges, power, education and health form the core of his priorities and equal emphasis is being given on all these sectors.
Mr Kumar said Rs 700 crore was allocated for the construction of bridge and roads in the current fiscal, while another Rs 3000 crore would be spent on roads.
State government have also come up with liberal schemes in the sectors like health and education.
Announcing distribution of ration and kerosene coupons to the BPL families on January 26 and funds for Indira Awas be directly credited to the accounts of the beneficiaries.
Making a fervent appeal to the people to foster social harmony, Mr Kumar said he was commited to fulfill the promises made to the people of the state.
