Son killed, mother seriously injured in latter's suicide bid

Ahmedabad, Jan 19 (UNI) A four-year old boy died and his mother sustained serious burn injuries after the woman doused herself and her son with kerosene in a sicide bid in oddhav area of the city today.

The boy succumbed to injuries on the spot, while the woman, Bhavnaben, has been admitted to a hospital, Police Inspector K J Desai said.

Primary investigations revealed that after her husband left for work, she bought kerosene worth Rs 50 and doused herself and her son with it.

Hearing cries, the neighbours informed the police.

Domestic worries could apparently be the reason behind the suicide bid, police sources said.
