New Delhi, Jan 19 (UNI) The National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) has said that the country's projected real GDP growth is still lower than the current trend of nine per cent in the first two quarters of 2006.

However, as compared to the October 2006 forecast, there is an increase by 0.3 percentage points, according to the council's latest quarterly economic review.

While the revised forecasts show higher growth in the case of industry and sevices, agriculutral growth projections are the same as those given in October, the council said.

The projected inflation rate has also remained at the same level as in October forecast.

There is a decline in projected curent account deficit and fiscal deficit of the centre realtive to GDP at market prices.

''The decline is mainly due to the increase in real GDP growth.

In other words, the improved growth performance will make it easier to carry the two microeconomic deficits in the current year to more manaeable levels,'' NCAER said.
