A half will cost Rs 30 instead of Rs 40 while a quarter will be priced at Rs 15 instead of Rs 20, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda told reporters here after a cabinet meeting here.

The minimum retail price of IMFL would be Rs 100, Rs 55 and Rs 30 as against Rs 110, Rs 60 and Rs 35 for a bottle, a half and a quarter respectively.

The new policy would yield a revenue of Rs 1325 crore as against Rs 1150 crore likely to be collected during the current financial year, he said.

In order to promote healthy drinking habit of liquor with low alcoholic content, the policy proposes to introduce a new licence in form L-10B for retail sale of wines to be given to the departmental stores located in shopping malls in cities. Mr Hooda said.

The policy also proposes to give relief to Defence Personnel and bring down the rate of Excise duty to Rs 22.50 per Proof Litre (PL) from Rs 32.25 per PL. This would cost a loss of about Rs two crore, Mr Hooda said.
