Bhubaneswar, Jan 19 (UNI) Former Orissa Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang today dubbed as totally 'unfair and unjust' on the part of the state government to submit before the Apex Court that he had unauthorisedly occupied the government quarter since 2000.

Mr Gamang, who had filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court expressing his desire to vacate the house before January 23 next, told newsmen here that the state government without disposing his application, had described his occupation as ''unauthorised''.

A visibly upset Mr Gamang who left the official bungalow allotted to him today, told newsmen that 'there is a government in the state but no governance'.

The former Union Minister and presently a Lok Sabha Member from Koraput seat, said being a former Chief Minister he was allotted a quarter by the Orissa government in 1999 as per the policy of the government.

But surprisingly on June 11, 2004, the joint secretary to Orissa government has asked him to vacate the house on the ground that he ceased to be a MLA in the State Assembly.

Mr Gamang said he represented to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on June 18, 2004 stating that he was allotted the quarter not because of MLA but as former Chief Minister and Mr Patnaik acknowledged it stating that he would be looking into the matter.

The Chief Minister, the Congress Parliament member said, had not yet decided on his representation but the government surprisingly made an affidavit before the Supreme Court that he along with seven other politicians had been unauthorisedly occupying the government quarter.
