Asiya Andrabi released on bail in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jan 19 (UNI) Dukhtaran-e-Millat (Daughters of faith) chief Asiya Andrabi and her associates were released on bail today, a day after raiding a cyber cafe which they alleged was spreading ''indecency and immorality'' in the society.
Ms Andrabi and her eleven other members of the Forum Against Social Evil (FASE) were arrested by police yesterday after they stormed the cyber cafe at Khanyar in the downtown city where they alleged some boys and girls were busy in ''immoral'' activities.
Police immediately swung into action and exchanged heated words with FASE members, saying they were not authorised to carry out such raids. They also recused some ''captured'' young boys and girls.
Police also denied the allegations levelled by Ms Andrabi and others regarding the activities of the cyber cafe.
Ms Andrabi has launched a campaign against ''obscenity'' in public places in the Kashmir valley.
She was arrested and lodged for three months in jail in 2005 when she was on her campaign and had raided several cyber cafe, hotels and restaurants to stamp out ''flesh trade'' from the city.
