Subex Azure acquires OSS soln provider Syndesis

Bangalore, Jan 18: Subex Azure, a leading vendor of revenue maximisation solutions for telecom operators, today announced that it has entered into a conditional contract to acquire one of the world's leading provider of telecom Operations Support Software (OSS) solutions in an all cash deal of US Dollars 164.5 million.

Announcing this to newsmen here Subex Azure Chairman and Managing Director Subash Menon said the acquisition, process to be completed before March, would be a significant milestone in the company's drive to become the leading global vendor of telecom OSS solutions.

It opens up a broad horizon for the company through which the revenue could be increased from the present half a billion USD to 2.5 billion USD, he hoped. Competitive advantage would now be gained by demonstrating operational dexterity, through reduced time to market for new services, rapid service provisioning, maintaining high quality of service delivery and doing so in a cost efficient manner, he noted.

Replying to queries he said the acquisition would allow Subex Azure to substantially expand not only its product portfolio but also its addressable market. For current customers of the company, the acquisition would provide access to a host of new but field proven OSS solutions focused on the automation of fulfillment processes, the ability to establish leaner, more efficient operations, and the ability to actively manage operations costs, he explained.

He said the expanded Subex Azure would be reorganised into three distinct Strategic Business Units (SBU)- Revenue Maximization Solutions SBU, Fullfilment and Assurance Solutions SBU and BT Business SBU.

Subex Azure's customers included 23 of the world's 40 largest telecom companies by revenue and it currently served over 150 customers spread across 70 countries.
