Rhein Chemie to set up rubber chemical plant in Madurai

Chennai, Jan 18 (UNI) Leading international manufacturer of additives for rubber and lubricant Rhein Chemie group have entered into a tie-up with Lanxess India Limited to setup rubber chemical plant in Madurai.

Talking to newspersons here today, Managing Director Joerg Strassburger said, "the proposed plant, which has the capacity to produce 2000 tonnes of rubber chemicals per year".

"Out of the total production, 80 per cent would be rubber chemical and the rest would be polymer-bound rubber chemicals", he added.

Dr Joerg also informed that the production would start this month after a formal inaugration of the factory.

"We already have a tie-up with Appolo tyres for the regular supply of rubber chemicals to its factories", he said adding Lanxess was likely to tie-up with other leading tyre manufacturers in the coming months".

Mr Joerg also claimed that according to the marketing requirement, Rhein Chemie Group would be setting up more rubber chemical factories across India in the coming years.
