Rhein Chemie, Lanxess tie-up for new factory

Chennai, Jan 18 (UNI) Rhein Chemie group, the manufacturer of additives for rubber and lubricant, has entered into a tie-up with Lanxess India Limited to set up a rubber chemical plant in Madurai.

Talking to newspersons here today, Lanxess India Managing Director Joerg Strassburger said "the proposed plant would produce 2000 tonne of rubber chemicals per year.

Of the total production, 80 per cent would be rubber chemical and the rest would be polymer-bound rubber chemicals".

Mr Strassburger said the production would start this month after the formal inauguration of the factory.

"We already have a tie-up with Appollo tyres for regular supply of rubber chemicals," he said adding Lanxess was likely to enter into tie-up with other leading tyre manufacturers in the coming months.

Mr Joerg said considering the market demand, Rhein Chemie group would set up more rubber chemical factories across India in the coming years.
