Naseeruddin, Sarika meet parents of boy lost during riots
Ahmedabad, Jan 18 (UNI) Actors Naseeruddin Shah and Sarika, who star in ''Parzania'' based on the true story of a Parsi boy who went missing during the 2002 Gujarat riots, met the affected family here today.
The actors met the parents, Dara Modi and his wife Roopa, who were moved to tears as they spoke about their son, Azhar, then 14.
Modis lived in Gulberg society, which witnessed one of the worst massacres.
''He would have been 19 now. We can't still believe that he is no more. We are not giving up hope as yet,'' said Dara Modi.
He urged the filmaker Rahul Dholakia to release the film in Gujarat, so that people get to see how ''such mindless crimes'' could affect the near and dear ones. ''In fact, it should be declared tax-free in the state,'' he added.
''What has happened to us, should not happen to anybody,'' he said. Azhar's sister Dinaifer was also present on the occasion.
