J K Lakshmi Cement Q3 net rises 386 pc to Rs 55.06 crore
Mumbai, Jan 18 (UNI) J K Lakshmi Cement Ltd today posted a profit after tax of Rs 55.06 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 11.33 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, an increase of 386 per cent.
Announcing the results, the company release here today said its total income had increased from Rs 152.86 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 to Rs 228.64 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006. Earning per share for the quarter stood at 9.65 as against 2.05 for the corresponding quarter in previous fiscal.
The Company is setting up a new kiln at the existing site, which would raise its capacity to five million tonner per annum by September 2008, which make it one of the largest capacity at a single location in the country. The project would cost Rs 302 crore.
The expanded capacity would be achieved at a capital cost Rs 2,237 per tonne. The 36 MW captive power plant, expected to be operational by March 2007 would further add to cost saving, the release added.
