Tripura: Bank accounts for each family in villages
Agartala, Jan 18: The leading nationalised banks in Tripura, United Bank of India (UBI), has decided to open accounts for each family residing in villages in the state.
Families who are unable to open such account in the rural area by depositing the minimum amount, would be allowed to open those without any deposit.
According to official sources here today, considering the financial condition of families, loan amount through the respective accounts, an amount of Rs 500 to 25,000, will be written off.This was informed by UBI representative at a meeting of west district industrial permanent committee affairs held yesterday.
The UBI representative informed that this scheme has been taken up as per the Prime Minister's special package for the entire North Eastern region.
