Post meeting between BSF and Pak Rangers held
Jammu, Jan 17 (UNI) After the post meeting between offficials of Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistani Rangers, the situation has returned to normalcy at the Pargwal border point which was tense after firing from other side early today.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of BSF (G branch) K S Chauhan said there is total peace at border areas at Pargwal in Akhnoor after post meeting between two sides.
''We held a post meeting to avoid any tension on border and senior official of Pakisatani Rangers assured us that they will cooperate,'' Mr Chauhan said.
Two BSF personnel, including a Sub-Inspector, were seriously injured when Pakistan Rangers opened fire in order to facilitate an infiltration bid at Pargwal at 0240 hrs this morning.
''The Pakisatani Rangers fired at at least 75 to 80 rounds in which two BSF personnel got serious injuries on their chest. They were admitted in Army hospital at Satwari,'' Mr Chauhan added.
Pakistan Rangers started firing at BSF posts to provide cover to nearly a dozen militants trying to infiltrate into the Indian territory, BSF sources said.
The BSF also retaliated and in the ensuing firing, sub inspector Avinash Chandra and jawan Hridesh Kumar were seriously wounded.
Both the injured were shifted to the Army Hospital here.
