Night temp below normal in several parts of the country

Pune, Jan 17 (UNI) Severe cold wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Punjab and cold wave conditions also prevailed in some parts of Bihar and of east Uttar Pradesh.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in Assam and Meghalaya, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, in some parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, north Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and in remaining parts of east Uttar Padesh and of Punjab and were below normal in some parts of Jharkhand, Haryana, south Madhya Maharashtra, south Tamil Nadu and of south interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Bihar.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Orissa and south Chattisgarh and were above normal in some parts of south Rajasthan. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and south Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather will be prevailed over Orissa, Jharkhand,Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh state, north Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Gangetic WEest Bengal and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa and Jharkhand.
