Kolkata, Jan 17 (UNI) West Bengal BJP general secretary Rahul Sinha today demanded that the ruling Left Front would have to cancel the deals inked with Tata Motors and Indonesia's Salim group for setting up a small car unit at Singur and SEZ at Nandigram respectively.
Addressing mediapersons here, Mr Sinha said the party would take out procession both from Singur and Nandigram tomorrow which would merge at the Howrah maidan here on January 20.
He said the meet at the maidan would be attended by former national BJP president Venkaiah Naidu.
The rally would carry the ashes of those killed at Nandigram.
''We will immerse the ashes in the Ganga,'' Mr Sinha said.
He
said,
''We
are
not
against
industrialisation.
We
did
not
oppose
the
setting
up
of
chemical
hubs
at
Haldia.
Several
other
projects
are
coming
up,
but
we
are
not
aginst
these.
The
Left
Front
is
trying
to
set
up
industries
in
fertile
land
at
Singur
and
Nandigram.
If
they
go
ahead
with
these
projects,
West
Bengal
may
face
severe
food
crisis
in
the
coming
years.
''
Commenting
on
the
coming
CAB
elections,
the
party
leader
said,
''It
is
a
contest
between
the
Chief
Minister
and
the
Transport
Minister.
And
with
this,
the
inner
rumblings
in
the
CPI(M)
have
come
to
the
fore.''
