Ardh Kumbh Nagar (Allahabad), Jan 16 (UNI) A unanimous resolution for the creation of a Hindu vote bank in the country was passed by the two-day 'Dharma Sansad' of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) that commenced here today.

VHP media incharge Sharad Sharma told UNI here that VHP, stressing the need for the unification of the Hindu community, passed a unanimous resolution for the creation of a Hindu vote bank in the country.

''This will be an apt answer to political parties pursuing the politics of minority appeasement,'' Mr Sharma added.

The VHP leader further said the meeting was attended, among others, by International VHP president Ashok Singhal and general secretary Pravin Togadia, is a precursor to the three-day Vishwa Hindu Samellan to be organised here from February 11.

''The VHP also decided to unify the Hindu community by installing the idol of Lord Ram in ten lakh villages across the country by 2010. The idols will be installed at one lakh villages this year followed by five lakh more in 2008,'' Mr Sharma maintained.

The VHP will also celebrate the festival of Ramnavami this year as Sri Ram Mahotsava across the country.

The two-day religious exercise will conclude tomorrow with a resolution on the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya, Mr Sharma informed.

The Hindu organisation also criticised the government for failing to stop the infiltration of Bangladeshis in India.

Meanwhile, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad Mahant Gyan Das -- a sworn adversary of the VHP -- termed the Dharam Sansad ''Bhram Sansad'' (confusion parliament) aimed at deriving political mileage over construction of a Ram temple.

''VHP has nothing to do with Ram temple as Akhil Bharatiya Panch Ramanandiya Nirmohi Akhara is the only religous body which can decide over the matter,'' he claimed.

Mahant Gyan Das, over the boycott of the first shahi snan at the Ardh Kumbh here by the Sri Shambhu Panch Dashnam Ahvaan Akhara yesterday, said, ''I have sought a clarification over why they boycotted the royal bathing festival despite assuring earlier that they will participate in the bathing along with the Joona Akhara. If they fail to give the clarification by tomorrow action will be taken against them.'' The Ahvaan Akhara, one of the 13 'akharas' which participate in the 'shahi snan' had boycotted the first shahi snan at the Triveni Sangam yesterday, demanding separate timing and place for the royal bath.
