Muscat officials deport 21 Indians travelling with fake visas

Mumbai, Jan 16 (UNI) Twenty-one Indians who were detained and later deported by Muscat authorities for allegedly entering the Arab State on the basis of forged documents, were today taken into custody by the police, soon after they arrived at the Sahar International Airport here.

Senior police officials told UNI that the police have now launched a series of investigations to unearth the modus-operandi and role of human trafficking gangs.

The deportees, who had arrived aboard an Air-India flight were natives of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and had gone to the Gulf on January 14 on a fake visa and other forged documents.

After the forgery was detected at the Muscat Airport, they were detained and deported back to India, police said.
