Mumbai, Jan 16 (UNI) The Board of Manappuram General Finance&Leasing Ltd (MAGFIL) has recommended a bonus issue in the ratio of 1:1 at its meeting today.

The compnay's Managing Director L Unnikrishnan here said in a release ''MAGFIL has consistently paid increasing rates of dividend to its shareholders every year since its going public in 1995.'' It has paid 15 per cent dividend on its paid-up equity capital of Rs 5.5 crore for the fiscal 2005-06 as against 12 per cent for the year 2004-05, he added.

For the period ended December 31, 2006, the total income of MAGFIL went up to Rs 26.55 crore from Rs 14.94 crore in the corresponding period of the last year. Net profit for the period rose to Rs 6.19 crore as compared to Rs 2.68 crore in the same period of the previous year. Basic&diluted EPS (earning per share) stood at Rs 11.03.
