Kyndiah urges people to work together with govt on health sector
Shillong, Jan 16 (UNI) Union Minister in-charge Tribal Affairs Patty Ripple Kyndiah today urged the people of Meghalaya to work hand in hand with the government to extend better health facilities to those living in the far-flung areas.
Inaugurating a health mela at Patharkhmah village in Ri-Bhoi district, Mr Kyndiah said the mela was aimed at creating awareness in different aspects relating to health.
He said the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) was aimed at providing effective healthcare to the entire rural population in the country with special focus on 18 states having weak public health indicators.
Chief Minister J D Rymbai lauded the effort of the District Medical Health Officer, Ri Bhoi district, for organising the mela to enable the people get better healthcare.
