Bandh demanding circuit bench halts life in Jalpaiguri

Siliguri, Jan 16 (UNI) A 24-hour bandh called by a conglomerate of all political parties and various organisations paralysed life in Jalpaiguri district today.

The bandh was called protesting the delay in declaring the date of inauguration of a circuit bench of Calcutta High Court.

The conglomerate alleged that all infrastructure had been completed for the high court circuit bench here, but the date of its inauguration was not being announced.

All modes of transport went off the roads. Offices, schools and colleges remained closed.
