Yog Mata's Samadhi befalls Ardh Kumbh Mela administration

Ardh Kumbh Nagar, Jan 15 (UNI) Some teach the 'Art of Living', while a few propound the theory of the 'Art of Death'. Yog mata Keiko Aikwa -- a foreign national and an ardent practitioner of Yoga, has announced to take 'samadhi' for three days to be reborn again.

The whole thing is being done in the camp of Pilot Baba -- a former Indian Air Force (IAF) officer, who is known to have mastered the 'art of death' - by practicing 'samadhi'. ''I have done it more than hundred times,'' says Pilot Baba who has taken underground 'samadhi either in a glass box or in a bunker type arrangement several times.

Keiko Aikwa -- whom Pilot Baba describes as his 'guru sister', will take the 'samadhi' in his camp attracting a large number of pilgrims in the Ardh Kumbh Mela area. A pit is being dug for her amazing act on January 18.

Pilot Baba, whose original name is Kapil Singh, had resigned from the IAF after the 1971 Indo-Pak war, has a huge following and the rush in his camp justifies it.

Pilot Baba had travelled the Himalayas for seven years in search of peace. He was given the name ''Pilot Baba'' by late Vijaya Raje Scindia.

When asked about his 'art of interment', Pilot Baba said ''you have to re-enlighten your consciousness to fight the oneness away from five particular elements and then only something begins'' During Baba's discourses at his camp, he tells his disciples that ''if one is in the right frame, he can have 'samadhi' anywhere.'' The act of Pilot Baba and his guru sister may influence their followers, which they claim are in large numbers in the United States and Japan. Howver, the mela administration is not amused.

While the posters of yog mata are splashed all over the Ardh Kumbh mela area, the mela administration says they age not going to allow it.

''We are not going into the merit and demerit of the 'samadhi' but we will not allow it to happen in the mela area,'' Allahabad Divisional Commissioner R N Tripathi told UNI here today.

How the mela administration could allow a person to die as she declares, he said, adding the administration would take appropriate action in this regard.
