Top ''Ikhwan'' leader among two killed, soldier injured in J and K

Srinagar, Jan 15 (UNI) A top leader of counter insurgency group ''Ikhwan'' was among two people killed besides a soldier wounded by militants in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.

Official sources said militants shot at and critically wounded Abdul Rehman Parray from a point-blank range in the main market at Hajan in north kashmir this afternoon.

The injured was immediately shifted to hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Parray alias Dilawar Khan, who had joined main opposition party National Conference (NC), was close associate of late Mohammad Yousuf Parray alias Kuka Parray, the founder of ''Ikhwan'' group.

A soldier was injured when militants attacked a patrol party at Shopian in south Kashmir today. The militants later managed to escape, sources said.

Official spokesman said militant kidnapped one Abdul Rashid (50) from his Sumber house in Ramban and later shot him dead.
