Mehbooba, Tarigami condemn attack on Mirwaiz residence

Srinagar, Jan 15 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti and CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami have condemned in strongest terms the grenade attack on the residence of moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today.

In a statement here, Ms Mufti said such unfortunate acts did not go well with the ongoing dialogue and reconstruction process.

She said dialogue was the only option to resolve the Kashmir issue and mitigate the sufferings of the people of the state.

The PDP president appealed to all the peace-loving organisations and youth of the state to rise above and isolate the forces which were bent upon disrupting the ongoing peace process.

Mr Tarigami described the attack as unfortunate and asked the people to expose the elements inimical to peace in the state.
